☮️ The Sun Will Come Out ☀️

During uncertainty, the last thing you actually are drawn to is your appearance. At least that’s how I’ve been feeling. Don’t get me wrong, I’m drawn to certain things such as self care— i.e. getting my nails done or a hair treatment just to feel something other than this hole in my stomach. To feel like I have control over it despite the fact I might look like I rolled out of bed to get those services done. And when you work in my industry, this superficial and highly shallow industry, I end up shelving it. Getting dressed, looking for inspiration is just so difficult because let’s face it, you’re in full throttle survivalist mode. Don’t forget to add into that mix that you’re a mother to two pre-teens that have never been through this and of course your own personal PTSD from going to University in a country that had more unrest than peace.

In an effort to take control of my life and my mental health, I started doing this color wheel challenge where I fish through my closet to find an outfit inspired by this one color. This is my way of remembering who I am, and what I’ve built my entire career on.

I’m not writing this newsletter to gain pity but the opposite, I hope it helps inspire you to find your light when you feel like all is lost. I’d love to hear from you, on how you cope with uncertainty. Sending you all light and love and most importantly peace.

Building not one but three forts to keep the kids distracted, color by numbers was my therapy for week 1.
